The Characters :

ViktoriaViktoria is a devout follower of the Cathedral, finding solace and purpose in its teachings and doctrines. Shy and reserved by nature, she becomes animated and enthusiastic when discussing the Cathedral’s beliefs and the Unity. Standing at just 4'10" (148 cm), Viktoria is often underestimated due to her small stature, but she doesn’t tolerate being belittled and is quick to assert herself when necessary. Her scarred face tells a story of a painful past, particularly her encounters with Morpheus. Father Lasher, another prominent figure in the Cathedral, instilled in her the belief that scars are part of the Master's plan and that pain is a path to strength. Despite the brutal treatment she has enduredViktoria always carries a pocket full of Unity flowers, symbols of her faith and devotion, which she shares with others as gestures of goodwill. She has a deep admiration for mutants, viewing them as symbols of strength and resilience. Despite her loyalty to the Cathedral, Viktoria's relationship with Morpheus and Father Lasher is complex, marred by manipulation and abuse. Morpheus’s manipulative tactics have convinced her that the Cathedral is the only place that truly cares for her.

Viktoria's Eyes :The drugs administered during Viktoria's baptism were a combination of powerful hallucinogens and genetic modifiers, developed through pre-war experiments in biochemical warfare and psychoactive substances. These drugs were designed to alter brain chemistry and perception, making the subject more susceptible to indoctrination. One of the components, a pre-war experimental compound, was intended to enhance ocular performance and perception by altering the pigmentation cells in the pupil. In Viktoria’s case, this compound caused the melanin in her pupil to mutate, resulting in a bright red color. The red pupils are a visible side effect of the drug’s impact on her genetic makeup.

IvoryIvory stands at 5'7" (170 cm) and is known for her physical strength and determination. As a Vault 13 dweller, she was tasked with the crucial mission of finding a replacement water chip for her vault. Strong-willed and resilient, Ivory set out on this perilous journey alongside Marshall, another vault dweller. However, they became separated along the way, leaving Ivory to navigate the dangers of the wasteland on her own.Ivory’s experiences outside the vault have hardened her, but they’ve also revealed her unwavering dedication to her mission and her vault. During her journey, she sustained a grievous injury, resulting in blindness in one eye and a prominent scar across her cheek. Despite the challenges and threats she faces, Ivory remains focused and driven. Her physical prowess and mental fortitude make her a formidable survivor in the harsh, post-apocalyptic world. Ivory's determination and strength are not just physical traits but also reflections of her indomitable spirit and commitment to her people and her Vault.

Commonly Asked Questions and Answer

Why does Viktoria Stay with the Cathedral despite the Abuse ? :She stays in the Cathedral and trusts Morpheus and Lasher despite their brutality for several reasons. After her intense and abusive baptism, which involved drugs and psychological torment, Viktoria became deeply intertwined with the cult's beliefs and practices.Morpheus is extremely manipulative. He employs a mix of love bombing and psychological control, telling her that nobody cares for her as much as the Cathedral does. He constantly reinforces the idea that she has no other place to go and that only the Cathedral can provide her with the love and purpose she needs. This manipulation is coupled with moments of affection and attention, making her feel special and valued, even if it's twisted.Additionally, Viktoria's shy and vulnerable nature makes her more susceptible to this manipulation. She craves the sense of belonging and purpose that the Cathedral offers, and her interactions with the mutants and her devotion to the Unity reinforce her loyalty. Father Lasher, with his sadistic teachings, further cements this loyalty by convincing her that pain is a necessary path to strength and righteousness. Leaving the Cathedral is not an option for Viktoria because she genuinely believes in its teachings and the Master's plan. Why are the Themes of your Art so Sinister ? :Thank you for your question ! I understand that my art can be intense and may not be to everyone's taste. I’m drawn to themes of abuse and horror because they allow me to explore the darker aspects of the human experience. Through my art, I aim to evoke strong emotions and provoke thought about difficult subjects, another reason for this is also my Interest in these themes and the psychology of these Characters, both victim and abuser alike. Additionally, I have dealt with a lot of abuse in my own past, and drawing these themes, even in a fictional setting, has helped me process and deal with my experiences.(Of course It's important to note that my work is not an endorsement of these themes in real life. Instead, it’s a way for me to delve into complex narratives and character dynamics, often highlighting the struggle between the impact of trauma and manipulation.)Is there Romance involved in your AU ? :There is no Romance involved in my Story.
The relationships depicted are more about manipulation, power dynamics, and the psychological control exerted by the leaders of the Cathedral.
Morpheus, for example, uses a mix of love bombing and manipulation to maintain control over Viktoria, making her believe that he is the only one who truly cares for her. This is not a healthy or romantic relationship, but rather one that showcases the sinister and coercive tactics of a manipulative leader. Father Lasher, on the other hand, uses fear and sadism to keep her in line, emphasizing the cult's twisted doctrines. What is different about this AU (alternative universe) in your story ? :In this alternate universe, the story diverges from the original Fallout timeline. Here, there are two Vault Dwellers who embark on the quest to find the water chip: Ivory and Marshall. Their journey, however, takes a dramatic turn as they become separated along the way.Ivory continues the mission to find the water chip, striving to save her Vault, while Marshall's fate takes a darker path. Separated from Ivory, Marshall encounters the Unity and the Cathedral, ultimately becoming entangled in their sinister plans. Whether by force or persuasion, Marshall joins the Unity, aligning himself with the Master. Over time, he undergoes the transformation into a super mutant, fully embracing the Master's vision and contributing to the rise of the Cathedral's power.Viktoria left her Vault three years before the water chip crisis, which is why she is already a member of the Cathedral when Marshall arrives. Her early departure and subsequent indoctrination into the Cathedral significantly shape her interactions with the new arrivals and her role in the story.Marshall's allegiance to the Unity and his role as a super mutant significantly impact the balance of power in this alternate universe. His knowledge and skills as a former Vault Dweller provide the Master with a unique advantage, making the Cathedral an even more formidable force. Are there any extra characters or character changes ? :All characters remain true to their original personalities from the game. The only new characters introduced so far are Viktoria, Marshall, and Ivory. Some characters, like Father Lasher, did not have a talking head in the game, but they already had established personalities and stories. My contribution is to give them a visual design that aligns with their existing narratives.

Viktoria's Story

The Beginning:
Born and raised within the confines of Vault 13, Viktoria's upbringing instilled in her a sense of curiosity and skepticism about the world beyond the vault's steel walls. As she matured, she became increasingly disillusioned with Vault-Tec's directives and the lack of transparency surrounding the vault's true purpose. At the age of 17, fueled by a burning desire for truth and a thirst for adventure, Viktoria made the audacious decision to venture forth into the wasteland, determined to uncover the secrets that lay beyond the safety of her home.

The Wasteland:
For nearly three years, Viktoria traversed the unforgiving landscape of the wasteland, her journey marked by trials and tribulations that tested her resilience and determination. Armed with little more than her wits and survival instincts, she braved the dangers of mutated creatures, hostile raiders, and the harsh elements, forging a path through the desolate Terrain. Along the way, she honed her skills in combat and negotiation, learning to navigate the intricate web of alliances and rivalries that defined life in the wasteland.

Joining the Cathedral:
As Viktoria's journey neared its end, she found herself on the brink of physical and emotional exhaustion, her spirit worn down by the ceaseless challenges of the wasteland. It was in this moment of vulnerability that she encountered the enigmatic Children of the Cathedral, a mysterious religious order whose promises of salvation and enlightenment offered a glimmer of hope in the darkness. Drawn to their sanctuary by the promise of a better future, Viktoria sought refuge within the Cathedral's walls, where she was welcomed with open arms by its charismatic leader, Morpheus.

The Baptismal Ritual:
Embracing the teachings of the Children of the Cathedral, Viktoria underwent a baptismal ritual that would forever alter the course of her life. Entering the sacred chambers, she was subjected to a grueling ordeal of physical and psychological torment, enduring pain and suffering beyond anything she had ever imagined. Under the watchful gaze of Father Morpheus and Father Lasher, she was injected with potent drugs and subjected to brutal acts of discipline, her mind and body pushed to the brink of collapse in the pursuit of enlightenment. Through the haze of agony and ecstasy, Viktoria emerged from the baptismal chamber reborn, her identity and purpose irrevocably bound to the service of the Master and the Unity.

Devotion to the Unity:
Now 21 years old, having spent a entire year in the Cathedral, Viktoria dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the cause of the Children of the Cathedral, her allegiance to Morpheus and the Master unwavering in the face of adversity. Despite the trials and tribulations she had endured, she found solace and purpose within the hallowed halls of the Cathedral, her faith in the teachings of the Unity guiding her every action. Though the road ahead was fraught with uncertainty and danger, Viktoria remained steadfast in her devotion, determined to serve the Master and advance the cause of the Unity at any cost.

Relationship with Morpheus:Despite the abuse Viktoria endured at Morpheus' hands, she harbored a deep-seated admiration for the Cathedral's enigmatic leader. Morpheus' vision for the Unity and his, what Viktoria thinks, magnetic charisma held a powerful sway over her, compelling her to follow him unwaveringly, even in the face of his harsh discipline. Though Morpheus' treatment of Viktoria was often brutal and unforgiving, he kept her close, perhaps recognizing her unwavering loyalty and potential as a devoted disciple. The visible scar on Viktoria's face bore testament to Morpheus' disciplinary actions, a painful reminder of her commitment to the cause, His words of guidance and reassurance offering her solace in the darkest of times. Viktoria remained steadfast in her commitment to the Unity and the Cathedral, determined to prove her worth and earn her place within the ranks of the Cathedral's most devoted followers.

Relationship with Father Lasher:Among the Children of the Cathedral, Father Lasher stood as a figure of both terror and fascination for Viktoria. As the infamous disciplinarian known for his brutal methods of "instruction," Father Lasher wielded his metal prod with ruthless efficiency, leaving a trail of scars on Viktoria's body and psyche. Despite the pain and fear he instilled in her, Viktoria couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for the priest's unyielding devotion to the Cathedral's cause. In his eyes, she saw both her tormentor and her mentor, a paradoxical figure who pushed her to her limits while also offering her a glimpse of the twisted logic behind the Cathedral's teachings. The scars she bore from Father Lasher's harsh discipline served as a grim reminder of her allegiance to the Cathedral and the sacrifices she had made in pursuit of its dark vision for the wasteland.
